To The Editor,
Dear Sir/Madam,
We have been discussing the banning of the bagpipes at RWC Games. We feel it is very disrespectful to the traditions of the Scottish people as we allow the Haka and (other Pacific Nation challenges) to be performed.
We think a solution would be to allow one or two pipers to play immediately after the National Anthem. Then, perhaps, a short piece of pipe music could be played after each Scottish try and at half time. This would show the rest of the world that New Zealanders respect the traditions of other countries.
Yours sincerely,
Years 5 and 6 Philosophy classes
Sunnybrae Normal School.
Takapuna.
